Creating new designs and products can be fun! From sketching, to drawing, to models, to prototypes. Trying to communicate these ideas to others can be difficult. To communicate your design to the specification you have in mind you need to thoroughly document the data required. Through this project I was able to exercise my creativity and practice my sketching and modeling skills. I also learned how to effectively use a computer to efficiently communicate my ideas to others.
1. It is important to effectively communicate your ideas before creating a prototype is important because you need to be able to completely understand the product or idea. If you don't, the end product may not be exactly what you wanted.
2. In inventor I used the constrain tool so that the puzzle parts would stick together and not come apart. I would select the corners or sides of the puzzle piece and constrain them together. I continued to do this until all the pieces were together and I had the assembly put together.
3. When someone says they "used the design process to solve the problem at hand" they mean that they took a step by step process, starting at a design and went from there, generating data and information until they have the final solution. After trying different ideas or styles they reached the specifications they were looking for.
4. 15 year old females tended to take longer on the second trial than males. The males time generally decreased as each trail progressed. For example, a 16 year old male consistently had shorter times. Then, female times were less consistent. A 15 year old female took 17 seconds to solve the puzzle the first time, the it took her 2 minutes and 8 seconds to solve it on the second trial. A 16 year old male took 19 seconds to solve the puzzle on the first two trials and then 12 seconds on the last trial.

a. 16 year old subjects took less time on each trial than the one before, and they were more consistent than the 15 year old subjects. For example, a 16 year old female took 2 minutes and 13 seconds on the first trial but continued to cut the time down with each trial to 19 seconds and 13 seconds. Then the 16 year old male had the same time for the first two trials at 19 seconds then decreased him time on the third trial to 12 seconds.
